Marianne Williamson to Run for President in 2024
Marianne Williamson is running for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2024.
She criticized Biden’s campaign message. Williamson believes that it doesn’t address the needs of ordinary Americans. Williamson wants to bring people together to address the country’s problems. She is the first Democrat with an extensive national following to challenge Biden in the primary. According to Fox News, Williamson wants:
- Reparations for the descendants of enslaved African-Аmericans
- A new Department of Peace
- A new Department of Children and Youth
Williamson ran for president in 2020. However, she needed more support to take part in most debates. She also struggled with fundraising, which affected her campaign.
There are rumors that someone might challenge Biden in the primary in New Hampshire. Williamson disagrees with Biden’s plan to change the traditional primary schedule. Moreover, she thinks it’s not democratic.
WH Mocks Marianne Williamson’s Run for President
WH press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, made fun of Williamson’s campaign during a press briefing.
Jean-Pierre was asked if Biden was annoyed with Williamson for announcing her candidacy before him. She mocked Williamson and replied that she didn’t have a “crystal ball to predict the future.” The demo-rat also joked about feeling Williamson’s “aura.” The reporters laughed along with her.
Williamson had also run for the Democratic nomination in 2020. However, she dropped out before the first contests. She has called for reparations and the creation of a Department of Peace. Recently, she said that the US is on the wrong path under Biden, and it’s time to move on from him.
Williamson responded in a video on Twitter. She said that Jean-Pierre’s comments were disrespectful to someone running for president… and accused the White House of “hypocrisy.”
They might think it’s a joke, but there’s nothing amusing about people going bankrupt from medical debt or children going to bed hungry. https://t.co/HPTVA01siV https://t.co/EmrTEkYkn1 pic.twitter.com/HK0TUPFT3s

Williamson emphasized that she has a constitutional right to run. She also stressed that her candidacy is about substantive issues and policies.
She called out the White House for not sharing her commitment to the high ground. Williamson also expressed hope that the low, derisive narrative about her would not be pursued and called for an end to such nonsense, as it is not suitable for any of us…
Williamson became the first Democrat to launch a 2024 presidential campaign officially. Biden has yet to announce whether he will run for reelection. However, the White House has repeatedly said Biden intends to run for a second term.
